Tummy Tuck
Abdominoplasty
Patients whose abdomen has developed a rotund appearance, excess skin and possibly a lower abdominal apron, excess fatty tissue, abdominal muscles that cannot be adequately tightened are candidates for Abdominoplasty. Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin, including a lower abdominal apron, and fatty tissue from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten muscles of the abdominal wall.
There are a variety of different techniques used by plastic surgeons for Abdominoplasty and your surgeon will need to individualize the procedure to correct your special problems.
Abdominoplasty can be combined with other forms of body-contouring surgery, including suction-assisted lipectomy, or performed at the same time with other elective surgeries. It can frequently be performed simultaneously with elective surgical procedures for Gynecologic and General surgery.
Abdominoplasty is not a surgical treatment for being overweight. Obese individuals who intend to lose weight should postpone all forms of body contouring surgery until they have reached a stable weight.

Panniculectomy
This procedure addresses the large "pannus" after massive weight loss. This procedure can be performed 18 months out from bariatric surgery (most insurances require this amount of time) and the patient must have medical documentation showing the patient has chronic inflammation, infection, rashes and medication therapy and that the patient has maintained a consistent weight.
